20 July: Moth Night

Join us for an evening of moth trapping and find out more about the huge variety of moths visiting the local area.

Please meet promptly in the car park at 8.30pm as we will set off into the Woods at 8.30pm. The event has no set finish time; light-traps will be run for several hours and you are welcome to join us for as much or as little of the night as you like.

This event does not require a permit, and is suitable for all ages.

Please bear in mind that there is a low chance of being stung by nettles or insects and that the light traps will be scattered around with visitors needing to walk between each one during the session.

Light rain won't stop the event; but very wet and windy weather will. We will update the website should we need to cancel the event, so please do check back here before you set out. On the night if you have any queries please call Doug on 07512 678230.

You are welcome to email wytham.woods@admin.ox.ac.uk if you have any questions.

What to bring:

Knee pads or cushion to kneel on and a large black bin-liner to keep you dry when on the ground.

Torch, warm clothes and hat, snacks, ID book (marked with name just in case) and cameras welcome.
