Park Farm Research Application Form

Park Farm is 115 acres of permanent pasture just across the river from University Parks.

The farm came back into the direct control of the University’s Estate Services at the end of October 2022. Since then we have been exploring opportunities to develop the full potential of this site for research, sustainability and education. While we continue setting up the operational side of the Oxford Green Estate, if you wish to use the site for your research project you will need to complete the below form to enable us to keep track of all projects taking place on site. 

We aim to process applications within 2 weeks. Research proposals will be considered by the Conservator of Wytham Woods and the Senior Rural Estate Surveyor. More complex proposals have to be reviewed more widely. Please contact us with any questions on locations or access arrangements.

A minimum research fee will apply for each project. Further details will be agreed upon following approval of your application.

Please note that while we will maintain a record of all projects undertaken, all personal details such email address/telephone number will be removed upon the completion of your project.

Please tell us whether you are a student, research assistant, fellow, independent researcher, etc.
Please tell us your project objectives.
We require all researchers to deposit their data in the Wytham Database. *
If you have no expected end date, please enter a date 10 years from your start date. Your research permit will need to be renewed at that time.
Let us know the details of any experiments or practical work which you will be undertaking.
Once your equipment is in place, please send a photograph of it to wytham.woods@admin.ox.ac.uk so that we are able to easily identify it. Please also send us GPS coordinates of any and all equipment you place on site.
Let us know the details of any vehicles which you will be bringing on site.
