For 8ish - 12ish year olds we are running an Easter Holiday day camp in April 2023. There are just 16 places a day with three staff. It’s completely flexible - children can come for as many days as they like, at a daily rate of £55.

We are delighted to be teaming up with Wilderness Pioneers to offer this camp, and we will work with experts from the University of Oxford.

Children will spend time in Wytham Woods, and our base will be the beautiful and secluded Bean Wood, just above Hill End Outdoor Learning Centre. Drop off will be at Wytham Woods car park, and pick up will be from Hill End.

The topics for the 5 days are -

  1. Learning to recognise plants, discussing what plants and animals (including children) need to eat to grow, making a camp fire and doing some camp fire cooking.

  2. Learning to navigate using a map, how to stay safe and happy outdoors, some basic first aid (stings and scratches), and building a shelter.

  3. Going on an expedition to the far side of the Woods. Exploring the ponds and and the trenches. Learning about clean water and why it matters for wildlife and for people.

  4. Finding bugs in land and air - moths, bees and other bugs. Learning about their lives, and drawing them. With Oxford University expert, Dr Liam Crowley.

  5. Some woodland reading and writing, and adventures!
