Outreach

Forest School uses woods and forests to build personal confidence and self-esteem in children and young people. It is a specialised learning approach that sits within and complements the wider context of outdoor and woodland education.

Primary schools in Oxfordshire regularly visit Wytham Woods for Forest Schools. There are six separate sites, each of up to a hectare, that the children use as outdoor classrooms for nature studies and team building.

Hill End was the last part of the Wytham Estate to be granted to the University. It has been a residential education centre since 1956. A range of schools and colleges, as well as Guides and Scouts, use Hill End and the nearby Woods for their studies. It offers a huge range of environmental based courses, workshops and activities.
