Education Update - Autumn 2023

The education work over the past year has gone from strength to strength. As well as welcoming school groups to the Woods for fieldwork and other nature learning activities, we have spent more time in local schools, helping students learn about nature and create more habitat for wildlife in the school grounds.

We’ve also been teaching trainee geography teachers from Oxfordshire Teacher Training and the Oxford University Department of Education how to lead fieldwork in woodlands – teachers normally head for the coast for physical geography fieldwork and it might be useful to them to consider more local areas too.

Our Wytham Wild Camp for 8 – 12 year olds has grown, and is now running at Easter and Summer Holidays and half terms. We are going to start a Saturday morning Nature Club for children who are particularly keen on learning more about nature. If you have a young person who might be interested, please do get in touch with Kim.
